Lux meet Nico in San Diego weeks ago and he asked her to sail around the world with him. She had nothing better to do so she left with him and now they’re in Maui and needing to make repairs on his boat. Then he gets a big offer from two college friends, Amma and Britney, to take them to the Meroe Island for two weeks of getting away from everyone and Lux agrees to go as well. The island is known for WWII refueling and men being stuck and dying there. They arrive at the island to find a yacht there with Jake and Eliza, who are very friendly and the six of them bond. And soon another boat pulls up with Robbie. Then things start to go haywire among the group. Someone cheats, someone disappears, murders start to take place and shocking pasts and secret alliances are revealed using the before (the past) and then now (present_ staple that a lot of novels use. Not everyone will make it out alive and with twist after twist, it’s the first truly good thriller of the new year.
