Meg is having some me time when she gets a call that she is needed at Ragnar’s estate, a bunch of horses are being moved into his stables, and it’s all hands on deck. She grabs the twins and heads for his place. Turns out Abel Abernathy’s father has died with no will, and his brother George is claiming half the farm. When he turns up at the farm with his henchman, he is turned away, and fearing he may cause trouble, everyone is on high alert. The man, Lefty, is soon found dead in the barn by Meg, and there are a number of suspects. As the investigation ramps up, Meg finds a few clues and soon discovers who killed Lefty, and the estate of Abel’s father is over as a will was found. This is another good novel in the series, with all the fun supporting characters, a stable of horses in the plot. This is the 39th novel in the series, and fans will enjoy this one.
