Jack Morgan is in Rome to open up his latest Private Office, and has hired Matteo Ricci, a former Rome police inspector, to run the agency. There’s a party to celebrate it, and a priest shows up upset about something, Matteo leaves with him to talk, and the next thing we see is the priest is dead, and a gun in Matteo’s hand. He’s arrested, he claims he is innocent, and Jack decides to investigate what happened. His investigation learns so much more about what is really going on in Rome. There are secret organizations, and bad people, up to no good, and Jack seems to be pissing them all off. He finds his life in danger on many occasions, and won’t stop until he uncovers exactly what is going on. This is the 18th novel in the series, and it’s a great, page-turning thriller. Jack Morgan is a badass character, and the story is intense. Fans of this series will enjoy this one.
