Brynn is about to turn 30, is divorced and looking for that special someone. She doesn’t have many friends, and her favorite thing to do is rewatch the TV series Carson’s Cove, a soapy teen drama on Netflix. She lives with the hunky Josh, who helps pay the rent and is a bartender. On this night she has gone to his bar with a group of women she met, to the bar Josh works at, and it doesn’t go well. Josh leaves early to take her home, and they watch some episodes of the TV show. When a man arrives with a birthday cake, she makes a wish for a happily-ever-after. When she wakes the next morning, she and Josh find themselves transported to Carson’s Cove. Brynn is the lead character of Sloan, and Josh is bad boy Fletch. To get home, Sloan must finish the story of her hot romance with Spencer, when the show was canceled after five seasons, it left on a cliffhanger. Now fifteen years later, their story must be completed. Brynn has other ideas, and she and Josh fall for each other, since that wasn’t the plan, she has to make a secret deal in order to try and end this, which could mean losing Josh forever. This is a fun, unique rom-com that hits all the right buttons. Following these two characters in a different world and falling in love is magical and engaging. Author Kate Robb has written one of the best rom-coms of the year.
