Book Review: ‘Please Join Us: A Novel’ By Catherine McKenzie

Nicole and Dan are a married couple and are both lawyers. She works at a big law firm and he works at a lesser firm. After bills they barely make enough and live in his Aunt Penny’s beautiful apartment and pay a small rent (and they live in New York). Nicole is on notice at her job to work more and bill more. Soon after she gets invited to an exclusive woman’s networking event Panthera Leo. She decides to go and meets other women who have been invited. It’s an exclusive club where they will always have each others backs and they are a pride. Nicole soon gets a big account at work and when she’s forced to more a great new apartment. But Nicole soon learns that her life is being watched and controlled and she’s asked to do things she doesn’t want to. She’s soon threatened and decides to fight back. She comes up with a plan to outwit the pride that could take them down once and for all. But just who is playing who? A solid thriller, with lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing as to the outcome, as you root for Nicole to hopefully come out on top. A good book to read to kick off the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

Please Join Us is in stores on Tuesday, August, 23rd from Atria.
