Katie Chambers has returned to Cedar Bay, outside of Seattle, after her mother’s death to work at Cedar Bay Puzzles. She has put back together the South Island Jigsaw Crew, who get together weekly to test new puzzles. One of the members, Elena, is acting weird on this day, and then the next day comes looking for Katie’s father, Jim, who works at the library. The next day, she’s found dead, and Jim is the prime suspect. Katie decides to convene the crew and try to solve the murder and come up with four potential suspects. Someone doesn’t want Katie investigating, and if she doesn’t solve this case soon, she may be the next to die. This is the debut novel in this series, and it’s a fun one. Fans of small-town murder mysteries will enjoy this one. With a good supporting cast, including a cat, there’s lots of stories left to tell in future novels.
