Book Review: ‘Payback In Death: An Eve Dallas Novel’ By J.D. Robb

Eve Dallas has been on vacation for the past couple of weeks with her husband Roarke, first to Greece, and then to Ireland, to visit his family. Having just returned home, she has no time to rest when she gets an urgent call, a retired internal affair cop, Martin Greenleaf, has been found dead, and it looks like a suicide. When Eve gets there she knows right away it was murder, and now she and Peabody have a new case, and when it involves a cop killer, time is of the essence. She has any number of potential suspects, from past cops, convicts, families of anyone Martin ever busted, and even friends of the family. She’s not having much luck, until a picture proves just the break she needs, and she has found the killer. This is novel #57 in the series, and it’s as good as any of the others. These are strong psychological thrillers, with intense plots, and the lol moments we have come to enjoy of J.D. Robb’s writing.
