Lina is married to David and has two teenage kids who have made a website that has gotten some serious traction. They live in Atlanta in a big house and seem like the perfect family. But they’re not. David has become abusive and controlling in recent years and it’s harder for Lina to deal with him. When the kids get promotional opportunities for their site Lina lets them do it, David things the site it a joke. In LA for an interview for the Kids, Lina meets Noah, an A-List actor and he’s smitten with her. They keep in touch via text and face time and even meet up when he’s in town. But David is becoming more unstable and soon Lina decides to try and leave him and take the kids. But David will not allow it and things become dire for Lina. With Noah and her best friend back in her life after five years, a plan is made for Lina and the kids. But it might be too late for Lina when David finally looses it.

An intense novel about family, abuse (both mentally and physically) and one woman’s fight to end it and save herself and her kids. It’s not an easy read with the abuse but a strong story about one woman that’s able to fight her way out and hopefully make it all the way out.

You can pick up Paper Doll Lina in stores on Wednesday, September 1st from Lake Union.
