Julia Mann is an Oscar-winning actress, who has stopped acting now that she’s older. She also has a drinking problem and wakes up at her home to find Tony Eckenridge, the head of a movie studio, dead in her pool, with no memory of being at her house. She fears she will be arrested for it, she had been arrested before for the murder of her ex-husband. At an AA meeting, she meets Natasha Mason, who ends up becoming her assistant and moving into her house. Together they decide they’re going to find out who murdered Tony after Julia has been arrested for his death. This is a really fun novel. With two tough, wisecracking leads, a good group of supporting characters and lots of lol moments. Once again author Waxman delivers.
