Book Review: ‘Once Upon A Seaside Murder: A Beach Reads Novel’ By Maggie Blackburn

The second book in author Maggie Blackburn’s Beach Reads series, is a solid follow-up to here first book and continues the story of the small Brigid’s Island, NC quirky locals and residents. This time a long-ago cold-case murder takes center stage as Summer Meriwether, who owns the Beach Reads bookstore, finds a box in the storeroom and it’s about her dead mother and a murder many years ago that was never solved. And now an author is coming to town, who has written a novel based on the long ago murder and someone doesn’t want her here. Numberous warnings take place until she vanishes. And someone is after Summer as well. It turns out to involve Summer’s long lost family that she doesn’t really know. But her investigating puts her in harm and she may have asked one question too many.
