Twenty years ago sixteen-year-old Caitlin Dale died on the 4th of July in Briar Green, an affluent small town, where everyone knows everyone and if you’re not rich and powerful, you are no one. Alice was with Caitlin right before she died and swears that her then-boyfriend, Patrick Yates, son of a Senator, was responsible, he was never charged and the death was ruled a suicide. Now twenty years later, Alice has returned to town and is determined to find out the truth and get the case opened again and Patrick charged. She starts investigating and gets warnings to back off and she soon learns the shocking truth about what happened that night, it’s truly a shock to Alice. This is author Kelsey Miller’s debut thriller novel and it’s a good one. It’s a twisty novel that has an ending you don’t see coming. A perfect fall read.
