Emmett Truesdal has suffered from being overweight his whole life, as well as having an abusive step-dad. Today, he works at Target, is over 300 pounds and is made fun of all the time. He is gay and would love to find the right man, which is hard for him to do. When he finds out about a new weight loss drug that is looking for people to try it during trials of it, he signs up and is approved to use it. He sees the pounds drop off fast, without any change to his diet and no exercising, which he does pick up. He meets Aaron, someone he knew before, and they start a relationship, he soon drops below 200 pounds and gets a promotion at work. Everything should be great for him, but it’s not. He is having blackouts, forgetting things, and finding himself bloody, and there’s been a string of murders. Is this drug making him a killer, or is something else at play going on with him? This is a creepy thriller, with a good look at the emotions of an overweight man who just wants to be loved. The twist as to who is pulling the strings and what is going on is a shock. Author Luke Dumas has written another hit novel.
