Two women and a little girls lives will forever be changed. Emma is five years old and she has a horrible mother in Amy. She was never wanted and his mother is mean to the girl and verbally and physically abuses her. Sarah saw them months ago at the airport and noticed how bad Amy was to Emma.
Months later Sarah’s job takes her to Emma’s school and she sees her in the same dress as months ago at the airport. She does some snooping and follows the family for a couple of days to see if Emma is okay. She hears crying and screaming from their family home. Sarah feels like she has to do something and takes Emma and goes on the run. She has kidnapped her and feels like she is rescuing her.
We learn via chapters on each woman what their past and present is like and things from their perspective. Why they are the way they are now. Sarah has a very successful business she leaves behind to others to run. Amy is in an unhappy marriage and has been for a long time. The hunt is on to find Emma and there are some major twists and a shocking ending to the story.
It’s a page-turner of a story that has you questioning has Sarah done the right thing? Is she trying to protect Emma or cure something inside of herself. The way the story is written by each woman’s perspective works here and the backstory for each explains a lot. You will want to read to the very last line of the story.
