Theo Jennings is an auctioner for a company that helps sell prize winning horses and their offspring. He’s been here three years now, has worked up the ladder. For the companies October book one auction, their most important auction, he gets a horse sold for over 3 million guineas. He’s as shocked as anyone else it sold for so much, to a regular customer that bids. He later overhears him and another man in the bathroom talking about how they drove the price up, insurance, and how if the horse should die the money they would get. Well the next morning the horse is found dead, and Theo knows something is up. He goes to his boss, who kind of dismisses his concerns, so Theo decides to investigate what is going on, and he soon finds solid proof of bad things happening, and also finds his life in danger, as he’s getting too close to the truth. This is another solid, fun novel in this franchise. Fans of horse racing, and good old-fashion thrillers, will enjoy this one.
