The setting of the novel is Fern River, in the Pacific Northwest. Fable Oaks has returned home, and she is living in her Grandfather’s house, which is in need of repair. She’s at a loss, she dropped out of college, has no job and no relationship at the moment. Theo Nikolaou is also back in town, and he and Fable have a history from their time in school, he was her former best friend and a rival. He left town years ago, and now that he is back, he has changed and hopes to buy the veterinary clinic in town where he works. When a rumor starts that he and Fable are dating, he asks her to fake date him to show his boss he means to stay. At first, she says no, but when he agrees to help fix her home, she agrees. We know how these things go, and soon they are together as a couple, having hot sex, and wondering where this relationship could or will go. This is another delish small-town rom-com, with fun supporting characters, and two people you enjoy watching fall in love.
