The small island of Daybreak Harbor, off the coast of Massachusetts, is gearing up for a big Halloween event this year, trying to compete with Salem for visitors. Maddie James is one of the people in charge of putting it all together, and they end up booking the famous psychic Balfour Dempsey, who grew up here, and his mother still lives here. He will be staying at the local lighthouse inn, the scene of a murder, and a disappearance back in 1983. When Balfour announces he’s retiring after his event, it doesn’t sit well with his staff. In addition, some of the island people are not happy he’s here, a stalker has shown up, he gets feelings about what happened 40 years ago at the inn, and then is found dead, pushed over the cliffs. Now a murder investigation is taking place with Maddie in the middle of it. And she ends helping to solve it, with her life in jeopardy. This is another fun book in the series, which I really enjoy reading. Small town mysteries, with fun supporting characters, cats, and JJ the cat, make for an enjoyable read.

You can pick up Nine Lives And Alibis in stores on Tuesday, August 22nd from Minotaur Books.
