Camille and Ward were once an item years ago, but broke up, and she went to New York, and he went to California. Now they run into each other in London, each up for a new job, and decide to give it another try. They have great sex, it’s just the rest of the relationship that needs work. Camille gets a job at an antique store, and Ward gets the job at a jewelry store. Each have made their commitments and terms of service. They soon find they’re part of a war between gods. Once each is in their stores, they cannot leave. Camille has to deal with ghosts and spirits, and Ward has gods to deal with. For a time they’re able to talk to each other every night, and a god named Theo befriends Ward, and brings notes back and forth between the two. They soon learn time is running out, and have to figure out how to end this war, save themselves, and their relationship. This is a fantasy rom-com, that is excellent. The story hooks you in right from the start and never lets up. You root for these two to overcome their situations and be together. Some well-timed twists, and this is one you don’t want to put down.
