Book Review: ‘Near Miss: A Stone Barrington Novel’ By Stuart Woods And Brett Battles

Stone Barrington is once again in the right place, with the wrong woman. While out for dinner with Dino, after spending time with Holly, an attractive woman, Matilda Martin, is left in the restaurant by the man she was with. So Stone invites her to dinner and more. The next day he’s visited by the man, Trench Molder, and warned to stay away from her, which Stone ignores. Well it turns out he’s part of the Russian Mob as family, and answers to the Greek, from previous novels, whom Stone has killed. A hit is ordered on Stone, but he’s too smart for them, and turns the table on him. Seems like that would be the end, but it ignites a war after another murder takes place, and once again Stone finds his life on the line. This book was partially written by Stuart Woods before he died, and finished by Brett Battles. It’s another great novel in the series, filled with sex, humor (Stone and Dino are such fun characters), and an explosive ending. Brett will be writing Teddy Fay novels (who has a cameo in this one), and if he writes more Stone novels, the series are in great hands.
