When Isak was six, there was a terrible fire that killed his mother and three-year-old sister, and it’s always haunted him. His father had issues and took off, and he grew up with his grandparents. Today he works in home health and lives with his girlfriend Madde. Out of the blue, he gets a call from his father asking him to come visit he’s dying and wants to try and make amends. Isak agrees, and when he gets there, he finds out his father is rich, and things at first go okay. Then strange things start to happen, Isak gets memories of the past and a shocking death and a reveal take place, and Isak’s life is turned upside down. This is an intense psychological thriller that keeps you engaged throughout the novel. The twists and turns you don’t see coming.
