The Christmas holidays are approaching, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, and Jessica Fletcher has already been assigned a bunch of tasks to help the town out and for a chance to win some money from the state in a holiday contest. Realtor Eve Simpson is excited because she sold an expensive old house, the Jarvis estate, on a prime piece of real estate to the very rich John Bragdon and his wife Rose Marie. They have come to town to see the house and Eve has arranged a dinner party for them to meet Jessica and other townspeople. A problem has not arrived in the form of Kenny Jarvis, who was declared dead years ago, after vanishing from town. Also at a tea party, Rose Marie gets sick and is found dead, and there are a number of suspects, and Jessica is on the case, helping out the Sheriff to find the killer. This is the 59th novel in the series, my first time reading one, and it’s a fun novel, with interesting people in Cabot Cove. Fans of this series and the TV show will enjoy this one.
