The setting is once again lower Michigan, and librarian Minnie Niswander is driving her bookmobile, along with her cat, Eddie, who is mad at her after she left him for a two week vacation. They stop by the house of Gerald Arnhold, who lives by himself, but isn’t anywhere in the house. She soon finds him in a hole in his ice fishing hut. He is dead, and it is ruled a suicide. Minnie doesn’t believe it and starts her own investigation into his death. She soon learns shocking things about him, and has a list of potential suspects and needs to work fast to find the killer before it’s too late. This is the 14th novel in the series, and it’s another good one. Fans of small-town murder mysteries, with fun characters and a cat, this one is for you.
