After the events of the first book, Doc Savage and Kira Sunlight are on the run from Russians looking to kill them both in Chicago. They barely manage to escape, get on a boat Kira bought years ago, and head south to one of the islands his Grandfather Doc Savage hid a treasure and to hideout, until Cal Savage, a Russian millionaire, and a cousin of Doc, who has been hunting them, finds them and takes Kira, murders six children and sets up Doc as the killer. He barely escapes the island and heads out in search of Kira, who has been sent to the Congo to deal with an issue for Cal. Doc meanwhile is taken to Europe, then to Dubia and, makes his way to Africa and to find Kira, and where an explosive showdown awaits. This is another great action novel from James Patterson (and his co-writer), who never disappoints when writing these kinds of novels. It’s all action from the beginning, and you just want to keep reading along. I don’t think James has ever put out a bad novel.
