Lady Abigail Worthing has had her house broken into, and she fears for her life. Her husband is away traveling, and no one has seen anything, or why someone would do this. For relief, she attends her Drury Lane theater for a show, nothing makes her feel better that this. Toward the end of the play, someone screams murder, the crowd erupts, and Abigail makes her way backstage, along with her neighbor Dr. Stapleton Henderson, and she soon is investigating the murder of playwright Anthony Danielson, who has a half-written play on the floor with him. She soon finds shocking details about the people around him, and one suspect could have a reason to shut her up. This is a fun murder mystery, with a good character in Lady Worthington (this is the second novel with her). It also looks at the time period of 1806, when England was looking at the topic of doing away with slavery, and it’s incorporated well here. This is a winner.

You can pick up Murder In Drury Lane in stores on Tuesday, October 24th from Kensington.
