Lena Rubicon has a high-powered real estate empire in Los Angeles. She’s powerful, stylish, a bit snobby, and the mother of Beth, and grandmother of Jack, who live 300 miles away, in a coastal town. When Lena is told she has cancer, she moves in with Beth and Jack, so they can look after her. Lena is used to the fast life, and moving into a small house, in this town, is hard for her to bear. Jack, is 16, and works at a kayaking shack, taking people out on the water for tours. When she finds a dead body, she becomes a prime suspect. Lena will not stand for this, and even though she’s sick, starts her own investigation into the case, and soon figures out who the killer is. But her life, and that of her family, is in danger, and they not survive to identify the murderer. A solid thriller, which is all about family, and a fiesty woman, who will do whatever she can to keep her family safe.
