Book Review: ‘Midnight On Beacon Street: A Novel’ By Emily Ruth Verona

Friday, October 15th, 1993, and Eleanor has a date, and has Amy come babysit her two kids, 12-year-old Mira, and 6-year-old Ben. It should just be an easy night for her, but it’s anything but. Her boyfriend, his brother and others show up, and she lets them in for a while, then kicks them out. Then Eleanor’s ex shows up wanting to see the kids, but isn’t allowed, and he gets angry. And someone is calling, and then Amy finds someone in the house, and things get deadly, when Ben finds a body at his feet at midnight. Just who is dead, and what really happened this night. A solid, twisty thriller, that takes place in one night, with flashbacks to other times.
