Merry Binghm loves Christmas, and every year she goes all out. This year, her three grown children will be coming home for the holiday. They all have their issues and don’t always get along, but hopefully this year will be different. The thing that makes Merry smile every year is getting her heirloom edition of A Christmas Carol, signed by Charles Dickens, which has been in her family since the mid-1800’s. When she gets some potentially bad medical news, she decides it’s time to pass it down to one of her kids, but none of them wants it. So she decides to sell the book and take the family to London, which turns out to be not what she planned it to be. She keeps seeing the ghost of Charles Dickens, and tries to figure out what he wants with her, and hopes to salvage this Christmas, thinking it may be her last. This is a fun, heartwarming story, at its core about family. The London trip is fun, descriptive and makes you want to go and visit. A perfect Christmas novel.
