Fern Brookbanks is 32 years old, and has recently lost her mother in a tragic accident. She has returned to Muskota, Canada to run the family business, a lakeside resort, where her ex-boyfriend Jamie runs the place. Then he arrives and checks in, the man Fern spent a day with years ago, and was supposed to meet again, but never showed up, we learn this via flashback chapters. Will Baxter met Fern’s mother before her death, and hire him to help out with the resort. Now they spend time together, and there’s something still there between them. As it seems like something good is developing, Will has a secret that can destroy everything. A well-written character driven story, that gives new meaning to second chances, and forgiveness. You root for these two characters to get together, and are supported by a strong cast of characters.
You can pick up Meet Me At The Lake in stores on Tuesday, May 2nd from Berkley.
