Daniel died over 135 years ago and became a grim reaper, helping dead souls pass on. Today, his next person is Lucy McKenzie, whose life has always been a disaster. They meet at a work event Lucy is at, and there’s an instant attraction between the two. When she is hit by a bus soon afer Daniel is there to guide her. When they get to the afterlife, Lucy convinces him to give her more life, at least to be able to go to her sister’s wedding in six weeks. Daniel convinces his bosses to let her life somemore, and he has to monitor her and report back. They soon fall for each other, have hot sex, and when the bosses don’t think letting her live more, she is required to return to the afterlife, where she comes up with a plan to try and save her life, which leads to a shocking twist. This is another great, fun novel from author Jenna Levine (Road Trip With A Vampire, My Roommate Is A Vampire), with two characters you root for to be together. A perfect fall rom-com.
