Beth Lundberg is a waitress and helps take care of her mother, who suffered from cancer but is fine now. She has always dreamed of being a pilot, but cannot afford it. Her father is rich and part of a successful company, and has never really been there for her. She has a half-brother, Shawn, whom she is close with, and borrowed money from him which is due soon. When Shawn’s best friend, and fellow employee, offers to fly her in one of his planes, she agrees, even though they don’t get along. On the flight, one of the engines fails, and he safely lands them on a highway, and she is suddenly hot for him. He then offers to give her free lessons so she can become a pilot, they soon declare their feelings for each other, and have hot sex, and things seem to be going okay until she hears some gossip that could derail them. This is a great rom-com to end the year on. At its core, the story is about family and finding that someone special.
