Beverly spends her savings to fly to LA and appear on a live TV show, with her puppet, Bernie Bird, looking to get some publicity, as she tries to reboot the previously successful TV show, Birds on the Block. Also on the show is the lead singer of a big rock band, Griffin Harvey, who ends up doing the segment with Beverly. The clip goes viral, and soon Beverly has offers to meet. Griffin, who lives an isolated life when away from the stage, has a secret daughter, who is two, and has lost her mother. He is also having writer’s block on the band’s new album. He decides he wants to team up with Beverly, and decides to move to with her to her small hometown in the mountains of North Carolina. Once there, he finds peace, and his writing starts to return, but not in ways he imagined. His daughter is having a fun time, and he and Beverly grow close. When word of his daughter leaks out, it changes things, and Beverly and Griffin have to figure out what their relationship will be, and when Beverly listens to his new album, she knows what she wants and goes for it. This is a great rom-com that is all heart. The two lead characters, and baby Ava, who is adorable, as are the supporting cast members of the story. This book will put a smile on your face. You will not want to miss this one.
