Emily Allen lives on Martha’s Vineyard and works as a librarian. She gets the job offer of a lifetime, to be the assistant for author Siobhan Riordan, who wrote her favorite series of books growing up. It means moving to Ireland to work with her and for her son Kieran at his bookstore. When she meets him, it’s a love/hate thing right off the bat. With Siobhan, she gets along great and finds out she has had writer’s block for ten years now, leaving everyone hanging with the fate of her main character. As they all spend time together, Kier, as he is called, and she is nicknamed Red, falls in love and Siobhan gets to writing her novel, with their help. But she has a secret that Emily is keeping for her, and when it comes out it could be the end of everything they have worked for and her new relationship with him. This is a well-written, fun rom-com, that hits all the right notes. Fans of this genre will enjoy this one.
