The year is 1820 and Lottie Travers has been fired from her job as a Governess for riding one of the horses without permission and for kicking one of the members of the house in the nads for trying to attack her. Lord Guy Harrowby, Viscount Wennington, had his broken nine years ago and does nothing but work and be grumpy. His 30th birthday is coming up and his mother has convinced him to have a party, but only a small one he agrees to, but his mother has other plans. His elderly, grumpy, don’t mess aunt shows up with her new assistant, Lottie, who has a history with Guy, they ran into each other while out riding and it didn’t go well. Now he has her in his house and again they clash. The more time they spend around each other, the attraction grows, until they finally have sex. When Guy’s mother finds out about them all hell breaks loose and it looks like it could be the end of Guy and Lottie. This is a fun rom-com, with two great leads and a funny supporting cast, especially Guy’s aunt and his friend Bill, who runs the stables. A perfect beach read.
