Book Review: ‘Local Woman Missing: A Novel’ By Mary Kubica

Author Mary Kubica never fails to deliver in her books. Her latest is a twisty tale, that will keep readers engaged throughout, with twists you don’t see coming. A solid thriller to start off Memorial Day weekend with.

Shelby Tebow is a new mom and she’s gone missing. Her husband is the prime suspect in the case. Not too long after she disappears, Meredith Dickey and her six year old daughter Delilah vanish, leaving behind her husband 4 year old son Leo. Sixteen years later Delilah returns from being held captive (we learn early on where she’s been). But she’s a mess and via chapters narrated by Leo we get insight on her from his point of view. We also learn via flashback chapters with Meredith and neighbor Kate what was really going on 11 years ago. But not everything is as it seems and soon readers are on a ride that goes right until the very end.

You can pick up Local Woman Missing in stores Tuesday, May 18th from Park Row.
