Cynthie Taylor made her first movie, A Lady Of Quality, thirteen years ago and it was a hit and launched her career. Today she’s in a scandal, having been having an affair with a big-time director, who went back to his wife. She has taken the brunt of the bad PR and lost a big movie because of it. Then she gets an offer to do a sequel to the movie that made her a star, it’s reached cult status and been very popular on a streaming site. It also means having to work with Jack, her leading man, who she did not get along with, they hated each other. She agrees to do the movie and finds Jack as hot as ever and they put their differences aside. They also have to pretend to fake date for a documentary, they did this for the first movie as well and find they have a lot in common this time. They fall for each other, have hot sex and Cynthie has to figure out if she can truly trust Jack or any man going forward. This book is great. The novel tells the whole story of the first movie and their relationship via flashback chapters and the movie today, told by both characters throughout the movel. The movie setting makes you feel like you are on set and the supporting characters are a hoot. This is a perfect rom-com for the 4th of July holiday weekend.
