Book Review: ‘Last Seen Alive: An Ellery Hathaway Novel’ By Joanna Schaffhausen

The fifth book in the series is a thrill-ride and possible finale to this series. It starts off strong and never lets up. The potential final showdown leaves readers on the edge of their seats. Years after he was captured and put in jail Francis Corbin has never revealed what happened to most of the women he murdered. For Ellery Hathaway, the only woman to survive his capture, it seems like the past is coming back to haunt her. A woman is found missing and presumed dead and it smells of Corbin, except he’s in a maximum prison and couldn’t have done it. And on top of that a film crew has gotten permission to film him for a new project. Corbin has said he would talk if Ellery comes and visits him. Agent Reed, who captured him all those years ago, is with Ellery all the way on whatever she wants to do. But Corbin has a master plan and people helping him on the outside. And he manages to escape, leave dead bodies along the way and an ultimate showdown with Ellery, that hopefully will end things once and for all. Ellery is not the same 14 year olf girl who was kidnapped and escaped. And for Corbin that might be his downfall.

You can pick up Last Seen Alive in stores on Tuesday, January 25th from Minotaur Books.
