For Jackie Pierce the events of the summer of 1979 come back to haunt her 20 years later. She spent 3 months at the estate of her rich, musician uncle in Northern California. It was a place of free love, music, drugs, alcohol and parties. Jackie became close to her cousin Willa and they planned many adventures and wrote music together. Now in 1999 Jackie has inherited the place after her aunt dies. She goes back to clean up the place and sell it. Memories come flooding back and she recalls the shocking events of that summer and learns shocking secrets and has to come to terms with her past in order to move forward.
A solid story with interesting characters, a way placed location and hiting the right notes of the time. Some well place twists and turns keep the reader engaged throughout the novel.
