Amy and Jo are twins, their birthday’s coming up on July 4th. It’s also the date for the wedding of Jo and Dave, taking place at their families home on Fire Island, called Kismet. For Amy and her husband Ben, who was her high school boyfriend, it’s a tough time. They’re going through issues, and want to keep a brave face for Jo, and the family. When Dave’s parents arrive, they don’t seem too thrilled with this wedding taking place. And then there’s the best man Emmett, a man that Amy dated 10 years ago, but no one knows about it. As the week long events go by, things start to get out of control for the main characters, with decisions needing to be made, and emotions are raw. Will there even be a wedding, and who will be with who by the time this week is over. This is an awesome debut novel from author Becky Chalsen. At its core it’s about family, emotions, and being honest. This is one you will want to keep reading.
You can pick up Kismet in stores on Tuesday, April 18th from Dutton.
