After the events of the last book and how it ended, Sarah Booth Delaney has kicked Coleman out and cut off all her friends. She is hurt that they kept the truth from her that her parents were most likely killed. When she finally comes to her senses, everyone is forgiven, and lives move on. She gets a client that wants her to find out who owns DeLonge Mansion that has been vacant for years. It has a notorious history, and people are usually scared to go anywhere near there. When someone takes shots at Sarah, she figures it is her nemesis, Gertrude, and she decides that she is going to find her and end this feud between the two. She comes up with a plan to draw her out and leads to a shocking outcome, and she finally gets the truth about what happened to her parents years ago. This is the final novel in the series, and it’s an excellent ending. I will miss these books and these characters; they feel like friends to me. I can only hope that author Carolyn Haines will revisit these characters somewhere down the line. Thank you for this great series!
