Linda Davidson is 76, she is a widow, having lost her husband 3 years ago. Her best friend Carol is in a memory care facility and she goes to visit her as much as she can, even though Carol barely knows who she is anymore. Her daughter Kleo and her husband Mick have moved in with her and are always fighting. On this day Linda is going to visit Carol and meets another patient, Jenny Cooper, who is 92 and who makes a confession to her, she kills people. Linda is not sure if she should believe her but every time she goes to visit and sees Jenny, she’s told more stories about her killings but she has to keep it a ‘secret.’ When one of the patients dies, Linda thinks Jenny did it and she starts to wonder if she’s telling the truth about being a killer and it leads to a shocking finale. This is an excellent character-driven novel, with a great character in Jenny Cooper. This is an intense novel you do not want to put down. Author Joy FIelding has written another winner.
