Ella Chambers works six jobs, and it’s still not enough to get her out of debt. When she is invited to the Montgomery house on Saturday night, after learning Trip Montgomery, the patriarch has died, she thinks she is in the will. Her mother was a maid for the family for a long time, and he was like a grandfather to her. Turns out she was hired to work, which was fine with her, as long as Liam Montgomery wasn’t there, they have a history. He shows up, and inherits everything. After a sparring session with him, she leaves, and the next day is questioned about him; he might be dead. Turns out he didn’t die, but someone tried to kill him, and now he teams up with, and spars with Ella, to find the killer, and along the way they fall for each other. It all leads to a Christmas showdown at his new mansion, where there are a number of suspects, and a shocking reveal. This is a fun rom-com, with the delightful characters you enjoy watching go at it with each other. A perfect Christmas romantic comedy.
