Book Review: ‘It’s A Wonderful Woof: A Chet & Bernie Novel’ By Spencer Quinn

Stephen King is a fan of the Chet & Bernie series and so am I. This is only my second time reading this series (there’s 12 books in total) and it’s one of the best written series in all of novels. Told from the point of view of Chet the dog and we get to live the book through his eyes, with lots of LOL moments. The holidays are underway in the Phoenix area and Chet & Bernie are approached for a case, one that Bernie turns down but recommends to his friend Victor Klovsky, another private investigator. Then Bernie gets a call from Victor’s mother saying he’s missing and hires him to find him. It looks like Victor was taken by force and now Chet & Bernie are all over the valley interviewing anyone remotely involved in the case. He finds it leads to an old mission that was sold some time ago and could involve an ancient painting. More bodies start to show up and soon they find themselves in danger and it leads to a climatic Christmas Eve and Bernie comes to a resolution about his personal life.

You can pick up It’s A Wonderful Woof in stores on Tuesday, October 19th from Forge.
