Leanne Everhart is a cop in the small town of Madrone, Texas, just like her late father was. All hell is breaking loose in the town when a man who was convicted of a murder and sentenced to life in prison is suddenly released, after getting his conviction overturned. On top of that, the body of a dead woman is found, and Leanne is investigating it, and that the police chief Jim McBride wants it buried and over with. Leanne soon learns that the bodies of other women over the years have also been found, and nothing has been done about them. She decides to investigate on her own, with the help of her ex and a friend in the FBI. She will need to work fast so she doesn’t become the next victim. This is an intense, page-turning story with a strong female lead character and supporting characters. Fans of murder thrillers will enjoy this one.
