Carol Quinn, who is 75, is moving into Sheldon Oaks, a luxury retirement home, in Hempstead, near London. This is a step up for her; for the last 35 years, she has been in prison, she’s a serial killer, having killed at least seven people. She got out early in exchange for telling where the bodies are. Her fellow roommates do not know about her past, not at first. One of the residents is a former cop, who recognizes her name, and tells some of the others. Then one day, when Carol is sitting on her patio, she sees a body fly down from the floor above her and hears footsteps. The man, Desmond Crisp, is dead. Carol is named as a prime suspect, and this time she is innocent, and teams up with her new friends to find the killer. This is a fun, at times LOL novel, that is a joy to read. The characters are top-notch, and the story is a hoot. I hope we get more adventures with these characters.
