Book Review: ‘If You Ask Me: A Novel’ By Libby Hubscher

Violet Covington should be on top of the world. She’s a very successful advice columinist known as Dear Sweetie and her column is up for syndication. She’s excited to tell her husband Sam until she finds him in their bed with a neighbor. She kickes him out and burns all his clothes and his Michael Jordan autographed poster and causes the fire department to show up. This is where she meets hunky fireman Dez, who takes a shine to Violet. Her life soon spirals as she drinks to much and trying to put Sam behind her. She writes a column detailing Sam cheating on her and another column outing the other woman (which was never suppose to be published). Her job and syndication are on the line. But there’s Dez who keeps showing up and they hangout and start to fall for each other. But Violet doesn’t think she’s worthy and deserves to be happy. But Dez won’t give up and has his own issues and hopes they can overcome things and be together. Another well-written rom-com with characters you root for and want to be happy. If you’re a fan of the genre you will like this one.

You can pick up If You Ask Me in stores on Tuesday, March 8th from Berkley.
