Clementine Clark is a waitress in a small Texas town, looks after her ailing mother and has a great singing voice. She is offered a gig being a backup singer for pop star Tom Halloran’s U.S. tour. Her mother encourages her to do it, it will be a lot of money and she will be gone for about two months. Being on the road is tough on her, but she adjusts and ends up getting close to Halloran, and they fall for each other and have hot sex (some steamy scenes). As the tour ends, they admit they’re in love with each other, but his slimy manager tells Clementine lies, and she tells him it’s over, or is it when a grand gesture is made? This is a fun rom-com, with two well-written lead characters and a fun supporting cast. Another perfect summer beach read.
