Brie is 27 and still feels guilty about the death of her parents; she was driving the car that killed them. She works as a receptionist at a life insurance company. It’s Friday, and she has left for the day, until she remembers she forgot to do something, and returns to the office to do it. She finds her boss, Luke, in his office, with another employee, Debra, performing an exorcism. Luke reveals he is a demon hunter from Hell, and he is trying to kill a demon that has come up from the underworld. When women vanish, Luke knows he has to return to Hell to save them and fix the veil that is breaking between this world and the underworld. Brie insists on going with him, and they have the trip from hell (literally). They run into all sorts of unsavory creatures in the underworld, have to fight at every turn, and along the way, they fall in love and have hot sex. When they attend the ball from hell, Brie learns a shocking secret about Luke, and they have to fight their way out of hell. This is a great novel, with two fun leading characters, and a quirky supporting cast of characters. This is the book of the fall, and should not be missed.
