The year is 1857, in Amherst, Massachusetts, it’s a cold winter and down the street from Emily a fire has taken place, killing two parents and leaving behind a young girl, Norah Rose. Emily and Willa take in the little girl and then rumors start that fire was arson and the parents were murdered. The ladies decide to investigate the death and the fire and it seems to lead to the college where Norah’s father worked. They have to be careful not to get in the crosshairs of a potential killer and survive the cold snap hitting the area. This is another good novel in the series, number three. The characters of Emily and Willa are well-written and enjoyable to read. Fans of the first two will enjoy this one.
