Emerson Pierce is a kindergarten teacher who barely makes enough money to survive. She’s dragged to a presentation for the skincare company Petunia Lemon, a multi-marketing company, that sells cosmetics. She’s talked into being a salesperson with promises of making a lot of money or she gets a refund on the product not sold. At the end of the night, she meets the very hot Lucas Miller and they have a hot night of sex. The next morning she learns he’s a reporter, working on an expose of Petunia Lemon, tells her she is a fool for working for them and they have a fight and she storms off. On the first day of school, Emerson learns that Lucas is the father of one of her students and things become awkward. Things start to soften between them, especially when she learns that the ex-wife of Lucas ruined their marriage by spending so much on Petunia Lemon products and trying to sell them. She decides to help him with his expose and they soon fall back into bed and have a relationship. Working with Lucas is great until their relationship is exposed and it may cost her everything. Another fun rom-com to add to your summer reading list. Following Emerson and Lucas on their quest to bring down the company and falling in love is engaging and cute.
