After the events of the first book, Annie Adams is now rich and living in her mansion, in Gravestone Estate, in Castle Knoll. On this day fortune teller Peony Lane meets up with her and tells her she has a fortune for her and also gives her a cryptic message of looking into Frances Adams files about a car accident that happened in 1967. Later that day Peony is found dead at Annie’s house and she’s the prime suspect. As she digs into the files that she can find and starts to learn about the past, another person is murdered, shocking secrets are revealed via flashback chapters and present-day and soon Annie finds her life in danger as the secrets are revealed. This is a good follow-up to the first novel with lots of character development for all the characters. The dual timeline works great here and the murder mystery is first-rate.
