Dom and Mia were engaged ten years ago and then Dom got cold feet and called it off and they broke up. He tried to get her back but it didn’t work. Now ten years later in Los Angeles, where Dom is a TV producer. He runs into Mia at a coffee shop and they both are shocked to see each other. They talk a little and decide they will get together on Thursday night. Dom is excited about this as he has never gotten over Mia and hopes this might be a second chance.

They meet and go to a fair, eat fair food and then go on one of the fast rides, something Dom doesn’t normally like to do. And then their is a tragic accident and Mia is killed and Dom is in the hospital. Dom makes a wish that he could have another chance with Mia and stop her death.

The next morning he wakes up in his bed, it’s Thursday again and he’s reliving the day over. He knows everything that will happen during the day and changes his plans with Mia, hoping to avoid her death. But she dies again. And he relives the day over and over again. He’s in a time-loop or a Groundhog Day. Each day he changes things up hoping to change the end result. As he lives each Thursday over he learns shocking things about his life, about Mia’s life and tries to change and make things better each day until he’s figured out how to end this loop and hopefully save Mia and have a life with her.

A heart-warming love story, with two characters you root for and hope that can be together by the end of the book. If you’re a fan of the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray, you will really enjoy the novel. I couldn’t put it down until I knew what the final outcome of their story would be.

You can pick up How To Save A Life in stores on Tuesday, July 14.
